[Maintenance] A few blogging notes, and other things

Most of you know that Code Geass has been licensed, and since that’s the case, I’m dropping all blogging of the series. Previously crafted entries included. It’s just too much of a demanding task to try to do so, and I can’t really finish it since I didn’t get a chance to see the whole series collectively before it was licensed. Yet, I think when it comes to the states, I’ll pick it back up from the very beginning. Some of you who were keeping up with that may need to prep for a long wait, and for that-I apologize. But it will come, just not at this time.

Nodame Cantabile and Romeo and Juliet will pick up from where I left off with them. I decided that doing a whole review post for Nodame Cantabile would be taking the easy way out, and I’d rather refresh my memory in going through each of them episode by episode before I craft a full review. So since I have a little more time (not a lot unfortunately) to watch anime now-those entries should be coming within the next week or so.

Good news for some of you, once I finish blogging Nodame Cantabile I’ll start on the new Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai series. It should be a lot of fun figuring the last two arcs, but we’ll see.  Since it just started not long ago, I’m not pressed to catch up with it as much as I was with Code Geass.

Expect music updates to be the same, and Favorites entries will only come as I can craft them. I’ll probably be updating my favorite Anime series list soon because I have to add in some of the more recent ones that came into my favorites list.

Best,

Rosepetals

Code Geass Episodes 6-7

I’m going to catch myself up with the current episodes I’m watching with Code Geass by doing a block summarization. Two episodes at a time in a similar format to what I did with Infinite Ryvius.

I will say that episodes 6-7 of Code Geass were really fun and engaging to watch. Episode 6 started off serious then became a complete riot by episode end.  And the first time I ever heard a guy scream the way Lulu did (and no…it’s not what you’re thinking -_-;).

Episode 7 brought new challenges to the table, as Lulu faces his toughest challenge yet: Cornelia.  And Cornelia will prove to be no pushover as the episode reveals.  Of course, the episode has its share of fun moments as well.  All I have to say is-Poor Shirley.

Code Geass Episode 5: The Princess and the Sorceress/Witch

The rather public display and appearance of Zero has set the Brittainian forces into turmoil, as rebel groups waiting for their chance to strike emerge from the surface. To top it off: Suzaku’s free as a bird and we see more screentime from him in this episode. :)

I wonder if Pizza Hut actually sponsored this series, as an aside note. I noticed the pizza box from which C.C. ate and the upside down logo. With the reapperance of the green-haired girl, aka C.C. and the scene in which we see her eating in Lulu’s room , I have a feeling we’ll see more of those pizza boxes in the near future. XD On a serious note: this was a very good episode, and we even have a few new characters emerging within the Britannian government: two who seek revenge against the one called Zero for the murder of Prince Clovis.

Read under the cut for reflections, and enjoy the picture of Euphie, one of the new characters featured in this episode. Yes, in some shots she does look like Lacus Clyne, but I won’t be making comparisons between the two girls in this entry.

Code Geass Episode 4: And His Name Was Zero

This episode signals the birth of an entity that will perhaps define the series from here on out, at least that’s what it seems like in terms of Lelouch’s scheme of reasoning. Considering what happened with Suzaku last episode, Lulu’s not pulling any punches in terms of setting his plan into motion.

The Brittanian side is starting to come into focus more with Lord Jeremiah among the overall staff. I’m actually just starting to learn their names overall >_> Not sure if it’s in terms of the progression overall and the series doesn’t really bring them up to speed, or if I didn’t really keep track of their identities up until now. Ah well.

Episode reflections under the cut, though I have to say this was actually an excellent episode in terms of overall events and characterization. The ID “Zero” seems fitting because he’s a entity that seems to drift with anonymity…until now. Picture of Karen-san following the general description before the cut. She plays an important part in this episode as well, in terms of helping “Zero” put his plans into motion.

Code Geass Episode 3: The Deceptive Soldier

Episode 3 saw quite a bit of introduced characters in terms of the school life aspect of this series. Milay, the student body president, Shirley, Neval (to whom we were introduced in the first episode of the series), Nanaly (Lulu’s sweet sister) among other minor characters. Lelouch learns a bit about his powers and the growing complications of Britannia following the Shinjuku incident. Of course, following the events of the last episode leads into a rather sticky situation, not only for Lulu’s actions in that role, but the recognition of a classmate who appears to be the “terrorist” he assisted in Shinjuki. Further, this episode almost has this same “classmate” discovering Lulu’s double identity.

Is he smart enough to get out of the predicament, or will the book close on him? Well, the answer’s a bit obvious considering this is only episode 3 of the series, but if you want to find out, read past the cut and the cute picture of Lulu and Nanaly (small picture, but I lost the original file unfortunately, sorry). I will say this episode had some rather interesting developments, and the animation is still consistently nice and crisp.
